When I was in Stuttgart with my mother and little sister two months ago to celebrate my sister graduating high school, we went to the Milano shopping center and found there was a Primark there. And when you see a Primark, it\’s so difficult to access, especially where I live in France that I always go in – at least for a peek, you know. Went to the makeup department, as usual and found tiny liquid matte lipstick sets. Swatched them, loved them, got them.
There were 5 different kits when I went to Stuttgart and in the meantime I\’ve been to Primark stores near Paris and in London and haven\’t found more kits – except a Nude one that seems to be the exact same as the Mocha Edit with a different packaging, something that they do all the time at Primark.
Each kit retails for €5 while the lipsticks hold 1.8 mL of product inside, plenty to play around with them for quite some time. I like the sleek, opaque glass packaging and there\’s no doubt these were created as dupes for the Huda Beauty mini lip kits. The formula smells sweet, a bit like vanilla and I can\’t speak for the Huda ones as I own none. But I like that the smell is not too strong because sometimes it becomes intoxicating and you find yourself never reaching out for the product for that reason.
The doe foot applicator is really good and can be used for the darker colors too although I always try to use a lip brush for that kind of lipsticks because there\’s nothing worse than having a full-on lip color that has a weird shape to it.

The Mocha Edit & The Rose Edit
There\’s such diversity in each kit that even if I could only use one color out of the four, I wouldn\’t mind for such a low price. The Mocha Edit holds three super beautiful shades and the fourth one, the lightest one can be used as a highlight on the center of the lip.
The Rose Edit is also very diverse and the first and last pink caught my heart from the moment I swatched them – they\’re very trendy colors that are spot on for September/October/November time !
Primark PS… Liquid Matte Lipsticks
The Miami Edit, The Tropical Edit, The Romance Edit
Even in the Miami Edit you\’ll find two good nudes (the last two shades) if you\’re on the paler side. In the Tropical Edit, you\’ll get a M.A.C. Tailored to Tease dupe (YAAAAAY !), an orange, a true red and a raspberry color which makes it my favorite kit as I\’ve got my favorite lip colors all in one kit. In the Romance Edit, you get two different reds, a cool-toned nude and the specificity to this kit is that the first color is a golden-toned lipgloss.
I was very pleasantly surprised with these when I first swatched them as one swipe delivers full color and pigmentation. These are different from Huda ones in a way that they will dry but will remain velvet matte – so there will be some transfer with them. BUT they\’re so pigmented that you can barely see that they\’ve transfered when you\’re wearing them.
One good piece of advice would be for you to apply only a tiny teeny bit of them because they are indeed very pigmented so the more you apply, the more chances you have of them creating that O-ring shape on the inside of your lips when you\’ve been wearing them for a long time. Just pay attention to that and you\’ll really enjoy all the beautiful bolds and nudes that Primark has succeeded in bringing us.
