One thing I\’m crazy about and have been since I first visited London back in 2014 is all the pound stores like Savers, Poundland or Poundworld in which you can find lots of makeup products for a pound. That\’s not much. A few years ago, Poundland had their own range of makeup called Make Up Gallery but apart from one very specific lipstick, I thought all the products were bad which is why I never even bothered writing about them. But when I went back there a month ago and found they\’re totally remasterized the makeup line, I didn\’t wait a single second to try everything out.
You know what\’s next. Tried it, loved it – the lip products especially is something I\’m always attracted to and if they\’re any good and £1, I\’m not leaving without some. They are the best products I found in the Make Up Gallery range so I got a few liquid matte lipsticks, some classic bullet lipsticks and a few lipliners as well.
Make Up Gallery | Pout Matters Matt Lip Colour
I was able to find 5 colors out of the dozen that must be available in the range – it\’s really hard to find online exactly how many existing shades are in the Pout Matters range but I know there are darks, purples and pinks that were completely out of stock in the two Poundlands I went to.
These lipsticks remind me strongly of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in packaging as well as in scent. The formula is soft and pigmented, I found I needed two coats to get an opaque coverage with them without a lipliner. The applicator is a good one, as precise as they can be and the lipstick feels very comfortable on the lips. I found that they dry matte, they are pretty longlasting until you eat or drink ; then you will definitely need a touch-up. I do not mind and I feel I can\’t ask too much from a £1 lipstick as the quality and comfort are already high.
Make Up Gallery | All About The Pout Colour Moisture Lipsticks
I am so impressed with these lipsticks. The formula reminds me of the M.A.C. Cremesheen formula or even the newest Love Me Lipsticks, pigmented enough that you don\’t feel you\’ve wasted your money and still hydrating enough that you enjoy wearing them. They are your basic creamy lipsticks with some classic colors like Paris or New York and some a little more unique like Shanghai or Marrakesh. On top of a lipliner, they stay on like a dream and they feel really comfortable. I\’m still all about matte lipsticks but I\’m crazier and crazier about creamy, hydrating, healthy-looking lipsticks and these… life.
I think I only left out a couple of crazy-looking Barbie type shades and I\’m just in love with Marrakesh which is the one I\’ve been wearing the most since I bought them. The only downside to them is the not-so-sturdy packaging which may cause the lipstick to crash into the lid as it\’s happened to me. You have to pay attention to that or maybe depot them, but I think I\’ll just pay closer attention to them so it doesn\’t happen again.
Make Up Gallery | Pout It Out Lip Liners
I got three lipliners out of the five or six there were in the stores I went to and I think there are no other shades. The ones I found are the most interesting ones in my opinion since I left out a nude one which was nothing close to nude as it was to white and an unwearable pink if I remember well. Fuchsia Fizz is a bright coral pink, Cherry Pop is a bright raspberry red and Mango Splash is a bright orange. Fuchsia Fizz and Mango Splash match the liquid matte lipsticks that are named the same. Cherry Pop is my very favorite, much alike the M.A.C. Beet lip pencil and very comfortable. Sometimes, when I wear Cherry Pop with the Marrakesh lipstick on top, it looks like I\’m wearing either M.A.C.\’s Captive or D for Danger lipsticks depending on the amount of lipstick I apply and I love how healthy my lips look in those moments.
They glide on the lips when you apply them and they\’re truly matte and longlasting. For £1, I would definitely get more if only they\’d release more shades and maybe even get another Cherry Pop if mine ever runs out. They\’re my favorite product among the three I got from Poundland and the lipsticks look a-ma-zing on top of them ! x
