Your attention guys, these palettes are the bomb. Just be aware that this post is pic-heavy and for that, I\’m sorry but I like it when you can see all the colors and textures properly sooo… Here is to three palettes I\’ve gotten a few weeks ago and not let go of since : the Maxi Reloaded eyeshadow palettes by Makeup Revolution.
Brands are releasing so many new eyeshadow palettes these days, and I\’m like ; \”Throw no more !\”. I honestly can\’t keep up anymore – at one point in my life I bought them all to the extent that I had actually no money left on my bank account come ten days after my paycheck but I don\’t feel like just buying to collect and do nothing with the products anymore. I guess my move to London has a lot to do with me not buying these days although I did get a whole lot of things back in London a month ago.
Just before I went there, I got myself three out of the four Maxi Reloaded palettes that Makeup Revolution had released. I considered buying them for ages before I actually placed an order, wondering if I really needed them and would the colors look like what I already had in my stash, especially the pink Big Big Love and the colorful matte Monster Mattes palettes – I have already written a full post about the Monster Mattes palette should you want to read it too. The Dream Big palette that you can see in the middle in the first photo is the one I was first drawn to, actually – and the one I have come to like the least among the three.
Makeup Revolution | Maxi Reloaded Monster Mattes Palette
Since I\’ve already written a full post about it, there\’s not much I\’ll say about it here except that it is an excellent full-on color matte palette. There\’s not one eyeshadow that disappoints, they\’re obviously much brighter on top of an eyeshadow primer, especially the light yellow or green or pink shades but I\’m really happy that some of the shades, like all of the pink/lavender/red shades can double as blushes. This Monster Mattes palette is one of the palettes I\’ve been taking with me on photoshoots lately because it\’s so very versatile, pigmented and all in all very high quality. Would buy it again if I needed a matte colorful palette especially since there are a LOT of colors in there that are also going to work very well for the fall time looks.
Makeup Revolution | Maxi Reloaded Dream Big Eyeshadow Palette
Now this one caught my attention the moment I saw it but when I received it and tried it, I was like \”Blah\”. The eyeshadows are quite amazing for the price point since you do have 45 eyeshadows in a €14.50 palette and that fact should not be forgotten.
It is just that to me, the color scheme of the Dream Big palette is not appealing in the end. I\’m sure I could overlook that and pick just one color here and there to make looks but somehow the palette in itself is not inspiring to me when I look at it. Maybe I was expecting the eyeshadows to be a tad more metallic too but I\’m sure I could make that work with some fixing spray or something.
On the other hand, while I\’m looking at the swatches I\’ve done of the eyeshadows, I can totally feel that the palette was created on a three by three eyeshadow basis, meaning I could make looks with the three eyeshadows at the beginning of the first row but also with the ones in the middle, the end and then same thing goes with the other rows. That might be a challenge I\’d like to do.
Makeup Revolution | Maxi Reloaded Big Big Love Eyeshadow Palette
Somehow I ended up liking this Big Big Love palette a lot more than I\’d expected. At first you\’d think all the shades are similar in this palette but they all have a different vibe to them. I am happy that Makeup Revolution managed to throw in some good transition shades and I\’m happy to be able to use a lot as blushers too. The few coppery shades are very strongly pigmented and I am mostly crazy about the first orange shade in the third row as it is a very special color, mixed with a tinge of gold and red and all the copper/bronze colors.
For €14.50 apiece (£12 in Superdrug if I\’m not mistaken), those palettes are just crazy. Makeup of this quality for this price is one of the reasons I cannot wait to live on the British makeup scene because they know all about making crazy good drugstore products. There\’s a fourth palette in the range called Large it up and if you\’re a nude addict then you should definitely check it out.
If there\’s one negative thing I should say about these is that the packaging is really cheap and while I\’m happy to be able to see all the colors and I\’m happy about that quality of makeup in such a compact palette (they\’re about 20 cm long), they are not sturdy at all and if I don\’t pay good attention to them, someday they\’ll break in my kit. Other than that, man – do yourself a treat and get at least one of them x
