How funny it is to be writing, for once, about my very own products. I have been a makeup artist for about a year and a half and I\’ve always known, even from the first day back in makeup school, that I want to own my very own brand of makeup products someday. Nothing is done yet. There\’s still a long, long way to go, lots of things to figure out and understand but here are the first prototypes of the Azami Cosmetics Lip Glosses.
I\’m currently trying to figure out exactly what I would like to do with a brand of cosmetics, what exact products I would like to sell, what my target customers would be – if I would like them to be thought for makeup artists in the first place or any woman who may not be very familiar with makeup… But I have to admit that the three first shades of the Lip Glosses I\’ve created are NOTHING near natural.
They\’re actually colors I created for myself first, colors I would be proud to wear and colors I am actually proud to wear since I apply them over a lipliner from time to time when I\’m at work. I like trying out what I create thoroughly what I create and I\’ve created these over the course of two weeks so I could have the time to try them out properly and also think really hard about what color I would like to create next – just so I wouldn\’t have one looking too much like the next one.
My Lip Glosses are still something very basic, packaging-wise and not something I would sell like that. I still have work to do about that and although I really like the formula, not too thick, not too liquid and not sticky, I\’ll be thinking of making bigger batches as time goes by so maybe find bigger containers and bases for my creations.
I\’m very excited to know that I can make any color I want, for myself or for potential customers. One of my dreams would be to make people realize they can and should dare wear colors that would be created to suit them.
I guess you\’ll never know the very first shade I ever created, one that I made for my little sister that I called Order of the Phoenix temporarily since that\’s what we were watching when I created it for her.
Up to now, I have three shades – I\’ve already made some for fellow artists for them to try out the formula and I did get great feedback that is pushing me to go further with my idea. I\’m always keeping a copy of the new shades I create now even though I\’m making the color for someone else so I\’ll always remember what I made.
The three present shades in the Lip Gloss range are :
– Peach Perfect (yes, from the movie Pitch Perfect), a kind of coral with a slight pink undertone and white glitter,
– Umbridge (temporary name), a bright blue-toned pink that looks good on absolutely everyone, fair skin, black skin, just everyone,
– Mystique, my latest creation, that was almost called Luna (from Luna Lovegood), a purple with lots of white glitter in it.
I am already thinking of lots of other shades to produce – I know at some point, I\’ll have to make some nudes but I\’m sure of one thing ; the nudes I will make, I will be proud of wearing even if I\’m not a fan of nudes usually. I want my brand to be fun, colorful, daring and suitable for all skin colors – I want people to be able to have fun when they\’re using Azami Cosmetics products. Xx
