I\’ve got this obsession with Barry M\’s Matte Me Up Lip Kits that you really couldn\’t understand even if I sat down and explained it to you for hours. So I\’ll just try while I\’m showing you two of my very favorite shades, Runway and Blowout.
To me, Barry M is a symbol of all the times I spent in London, with my sister or on my own, looking for new makeup to try as a beauty blogger and then as a certified makeup artist. Along the way, as I upgraded from just one to both, I lost and got rid of a lot of products and brands that I thought were cool enough but turned out not efficient enough for me to use on my customers and models – things I just couldn\’t justify using on anyone anymore (without becoming a makeup snob, something I wish I will never become). Barry M\’s products, at least the ones I chose, are still products I can use on myself and models because the quality of the product is great.
I am showing you two of my favorite shades, Runway and Blowout but please be aware I do have all of the ones currently selling at Superdrug and Boots, aka Pose, Go To which I used a few days ago in my Paint Me, Blue makeup look, So Chic, all their single Matte Me Up liquid lipstick shades and all their Metallic Matte Me Up Lip Kits too. The only things I\’m missing are their lipglosses and Gloss Me Up Lip Kits which I\’m thinking of getting when I go to London in two weeks. If you don\’t want to miss my upcoming reviews about all those, I strongly recommend you to subscribe to my newsletter so you see me pop in your mailbox when there\’s a new post on It\’s Azami !
Runway is one of my absolute favorite shades from the Lip Kits because it is just so different from what I already own (and I own a ton of products) ! This is a kind of bright berry shade and the lipliner and lipstick color match. I\’ve worn the lipliner on itself for a makeup look and for the day of work right after and it felt velvety, smooth, it felt like my lips were hydrated and just plump and I won\’t let you guess for long – I\’m getting all the lipliner shades of Barry M as soon as I can and I will review the hell out of them !
Barry M | Matte Me Up Lip Kit in Blowout
I\’m showing you Blowout because even though it was a limited edition for Barry M\’s 35 years one or two years ago, you can still find it in several places on the Internet so I know for sure I\’m creating no frustration.
The liquid lipstick is on the pinkish mauve side while the lipliner is slightly different, more on the mauve side, sliiiiightly darker than the lipstick.
The quality of these is amazing. I mean, you could never go wrong with either a simple Barry M single liquid lipstick (also called Matte Me Up) which retails for £4.99 or a full Lip Kit, which retails for £6.99. That is a steal and you can easily understand why I\’ve got all of them, considering they\’re not hydrating but not drying either and they\’re totally transferproof. I\’ve always been afraid of wearing dark purple as a lipstick and now the only one I wear is theirs in Avant-Garde ! Xx
