A few days ago, I wrote about the two Inglot Matte Lipsticks that a customer over at M.A.C. gave me to try and those two lipsticks quickly became my very favorites, being super matte and transferproof – at least for the two shades I had. They also triggered the purchase of a whopping thirty other shades of the Inglot matte lipsticks – and yes, there are some that I didn\’t get ! Fortunately, I have a makeup artist discount ; I dare not think what the price would have been otherwise.
What I\’m thinking of doing is breaking up the whole collection by color range to review it but I may not do so in the end – I\’m still waiting for my last order that contains all ten shades of the What A Spice collection matte lipsticks and then I\’ll think of what I\’ll do. First up, the three shades of red that Inglot has in their permanent collection ; numbers 408, 409 and 429.
All three have the very same black metallic packaging which I\’m not the fondest of because I don\’t think it\’s that chic or whatever but I know, since I\’ve gotten two already used lipsticks, that they\’re sturdy and the lipsticks have never opened in my bag so I\’m good. Yet again, I paid €11.20 for them (the actual retail price is €16 on the French website) so I do think I\’m getting what I paid for, especially since they\’re 4.5g each (a M.A.C. lipstick in comparison is €19.5 for 3g). I don\’t often find lipsticks that hold so much product so I\’m really happy Inglot are so generous with their products. Also just be careful : these lipsticks are made with walnut oil so if you\’re allergic, stay away from these !
Inglot Cosmetics | Matte Lipstick 408
I was very surprised of how creamy number 408 is, still matte but it glides way more easily than numbers 405 and 411 I reviewed here. The color payoff is amazing from the first swipe and it\’s very comfortable to wear – I\’m still using my 3ina Lip Primer until I get Inglot\’s to see what\’s the best one in the end.
Number 408 is like a tomato red, the orange undertone is very slight and it does compare, in texture and color, to M.A.C.\’s Red Rock lipstick.
Inglot Cosmetics | Matte Lipstick 409
This one was very, very dry, like the first two lipsticks I have and that\’s actually the finish that is transferproof. Of course. The drier the lipstick, the less transfer there will be – if any. In texture, number 409 is very much like M.A.C.\’s Ruby Woo but in color it is quite undupe-able, a mix of M.A.C.\’s Russian Red and Ruby Woo, a very classic red.
Inglot Cosmetics | Matte Lipstick 429
Now on to my very favorite among the three – number 429 is a very creamy, super comfortable very blue-toned red. In texture it differs from M.A.C.\’s M.A.C. Red Satin Lipstick but the color is very similar and I\’m really happy because that Inglot lipstick is everything I would have wanted M.A.C. Red to be – well, completely matte. I\’m not a big fan of red lipsticks on myself but this one is going to be worn over and over again. It is so creamy that there is obviously some transfer but I actually do not care at all because the pigmentation is such that the color stays on fleek even though you\’ve done some transfer somewhere.
I didn\’t feel any dryness when I wore this one and the color looked just like pure velvet on my lips. What else could I ever want ? This might very well be one lipstick that I will see the end of, someday. Have you ever tried Inglot\’s Matte Lipsticks ? What shades have you picked up ? Xx
