While I was writing this post, I listened to High Hopes by Kodaline. Try it !
Last year, I discovered that there is, somewhere not far from Paris, a park where you can find a square full of Cherry trees. It was the first time I was there, I was one of the makeup artists for a photoshoot and I thought the place was magical, grand, calm and plain stunning. I knew that if there\’s such a place with cherry trees, at some point there should be a celebration for the blossoming of the trees called Hanami so I looked up the date on the Internet and when I saw April 20 and 21, I thought that for once, I wasn\’t late and could totally enjoy it with my boyfriend !
Which is what we did. We bought some food, fresh fruit and veggies, bread and cheese and at 8 am, we were up. I knew from experience that before noon the place would be packed, Asians celebrating the blossoming of the trees, Europeans looking to spend a day at the park with their lover and children and I was right. We arrived at 10 and I had all the time in the world to choose a beautiful tree to settle and take photos for the blog. I spent some time reading, a hobby I\’ve taken back up and am currently making time for because I want to move at the end of the year and I\’d like to read as many books as I can so I can leave them here and not have to take them with me.
We saw people from all backgrounds, from people like me wearing jogger pants on a Sunday, to people in ceremony clothes like those little girls the mom kindly agreed for me to take pictures of and even people cosplaying – I swear at some point I saw Grindelwald ! So many people were taking pictures, so many were having their picture taken, everyone wanted nice memories of this place. If you laid down, you had a ceiling made of cherry flowers above your head. What a nice, warm, soothing moment that was. Please enjoy that calmness while you\’re here.
