While I was writing this post, I listened to Easier by Mansionair. Try it !
I try to spend as little money as I can at M.A.C. but it always feels like I\’m a makeup artist, a sales assistant and a customer at the same time when I\’m working there. I\’m always discovering new products and new ways to use them and that\’s just too much, I\’m like \”Take my money please !\”. Around a month ago, M.A.C. released the M.A.C. in Monochrome collection and I couldn\’t but get myself some new amazing products !
Composition of the M.A.C. in Monochrome Collection
This is such an amazing collection and I know it\’s supposed to be limited edition but I really hope some things will enter the permanent collection. The concept of this collection revolves around 6 best-selling lipsticks from M.A.C. : Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy, Heroine, Diva, See Sheer and Candy Yum Yum. What they did is they took each lipstick and created new products matching the color of the lipstick. Each part of the collection includes the said lipstick, a blush, two eyeshadows, a jar of glitter and a Lipglass.
Some products are brand new but some, like the glitters and some shades of Lipglass like Heroine and Ruby Woo are existing shades for instance. The blush in the shade Sur that goes in the Velvet Teddy collection is a rebranded product as it has already been released a few years for the Mickey Contractor collection and so is Apple Red.
I don\’t mind that M.A.C. rebrands some products because it means that even though the collection is limited edition, if they remove the products, they might still come back some day so there\’s a ray of hope since I\’ve not bought everything I\’d have liked to get in the collection, like the blush Sur that I haven\’t gotten this time, but would like to in the future !
M.A.C. In Monochrome | Lipglass in Best Teddy
This is one of my latest purchases from M.A.C.. I will do a makeup haul very soon including the products I\’ve bought at M.A.C. lately and you\’ll even see some products I\’ve already reviewed. Now, now. There was this day at M.A.C. I was starting early and there was absolutely no customer in the store so I got the time to try out almost every shade of Lipglass and once I had selected the most flattering shades for me (you\’ll see them first in the makeup haul, be sure to subscribe to the blog newsletter so you don\’t miss out on it !), I thought I was done. And then I realized I\’d forgotten to try out the Lipglass shades from the Monochrome collection ! The two colors I\’d been after were See Me Shine from the See Sheer collection and Best Teddy from the Velvet Teddy collection. At the time I\’m writing, I\’ve finally gotten the See Me Shine lipgloss and I will probably review it in a Lipglass Craze post soon – since there are new permanent shades of Lipglass being released in April, I\’ll write it after getting some new goodies, haha !
Best Teddy is a classic, opaque Lipglass but they\’ve nailed the brownish pink color of Velvet Teddy. I love this so much, I\’ve already got Spice as a Lipglass but this one is a whole other kind of nude and so, so highly shiny ! I\’m not one to use clear or classic lipglosses but this nude has got me hooked and I\’ve been wearing it day after day !
M.A.C. In Monochrome | Blushes in Undercover Heroine & Diva Don\’t Care
Those were my first purchases from the Monochrome collection – I bought myself one and my boyfriend bought me one as a gift. What happened is that for the launch of the collection, some makeup artists at M.A.C. had done a face chart for each of the colors and I was assigned the color Heroine. That is amazing because it made me rediscover Heroine which I loved but didn\’t wear often and I got to wear the Undercover Heroine blush. As soon as I saw my finished look, I was sold and bought it as soon as I could. The cool-toned purple is so different from anything I own, it\’s a color I\’d never seen before and I\’m kind of hoping it remains in the permanent line because I love using it on people as well !
Diva Don\’t Care, from the Diva lipstick line is one astounding color. At first I\’d never have thought I could rock this but on the day I bought Undercover Heroine, I knew I wanted to get myself another blush. So, I tried both Sur and Diva Don\’t Care – Sur was a little too nude for me at that moment, I wanted something more visible and the burgundy/brown kind of nude that it does on my cheeks is plain awesome. Now that I\’m all into nude blushes, I\’ll probably be going for Sur very soon !
