The eyepencils are all dressed in black and white, except for the end of them that matches the color you\’ll have on your eyes perfectly. They also reflect the finish of the pencil : the plum and grey ones are matte, the navy and khaki ones are shimmery and the coppery one has a more metallized finish.

Let\’s talk organic a bit there. I am not one to spend dozens of euros in eye pencils – I\’d just rather spare my makeup budget for other cosmetics. However, since the pencil is in direct contact with the eyes and I would rather not be blind, I try to buy products with a clean composition as often as I can. I didn\’t say \”I try to buy brand products\”, I did say \”products with a clean compo\” for there\’s a difference.
The ones I\’m showing from the French brand Avril are cost efficient (€3 apiece for 1g of eyeliner), cheaper than Sephora\’s nano eyepencils (€4.95 apiece) while bigger and they are organics, which is an important fact.
Avril Organics cosmetics : trying to make the (makeup) world better
I use few organic makeup products but I do think Avril Organics is a very interesting brand and I\’ve already written about two new shades of matte lipstick jumbos some time ago. We\’ll soon talk about 4 other shades but for now let\’s try and focus on these little eye beauties I\’m very excited about.
I have to admit I\’d rather spend a fortune in an eyeshadow palettes rather than in just one element such as an eyeliner pencil or a nail lacquer – hence my appreciation of these low-priced beauties. Not only does Avril make cosmetics among which most are organic certified by Ecocert but they\’re also cruelty free and the brand does whatever they can to avoid excessive packaging. These eyepencils can be used up to 36 months after their first opening and are made with 100% ingredients of natural origin, from which 42% are produced by organic farming. That is really convenient for their makeup is quality, it\’s body and environment friendly in the same time.
Avril Organics : The Organic Certified Eyepencils
I have 5 shades of these, I have bought all of them except Terre Brûlée and Black. It was useless to buy them as they are shades every brand carries and to be honest I don\’t use black or brown eyepencils often. Those are too dull colors and I think that other colors can be very subtle yet much more beautiful such as plum, grey or khaki.
Avril organics has given cute little names to its pencils : Prune (plum), Gris ardoise (grey), Bronze cuivré (coppery bronze), Vert Camouflage (khaki) and Bleu Nuit (navy blue). They all have castor oil in their formulation – this amazing ingredient that helps eyelashes, eyebrows and hair grow…
The Avril Organic Certified Eyepencil : Swatches
Applying these eyepencils is very easy for they\’re oily enough to be comfortable. The often too dry or too oily pencil lead is a reason why I usually avoid eye pencils. Those of Avril Organics are oily enough so they don\’t hurt the eyelids\’ soft skin. They are longlasting too : several hours without running everywhere around my eyes. From my experience, all pencils I have tried will run down in the wrinkles of my lower lid after some time but aside from that, the hold is pretty great for such a low price.
I still have a small problem that no eyepencil has never solved (aside from waterproof pencils maybe) and maybe you\’re in the same situation : these pencils, like all I have tried out will transfer a bit on the upper eyelid, especially if you have small or slanted eyes. You can easily fix that with primer, fixing water and maybe a bit of loose powder too !
I love these, do you feel attracted to them as well ? Have you ever tried some Avril Organic cosmetics ?
